Ocean Quality has been in operation since November 2010, and employs skilled and experienced people working across sales, distribution and logistics, and administration.
The sales company was established by Grieg Seafood ASA and Bremnes Seashore AS to give our customers an unrivalled service. We offer a continuous and reliable supply of salmon and trout from our packing stations, meaning larger sales volumes, complementary harvest schedules and the ability to offer a broader selection of whole and processed fish. Ocean Quality’s main office is located in Bergen, while three regional sales offices operate at Bømlo on the southwest coast of Norway, in Lerwick at the east coast of Shetland and in British Columbia at the west coast of Canada.
Though Ocean Quality’s history is relatively short, our owners have a long history of producing, selling and distributing high quality salmon and trout.
From the humble beginning as a seaweed reception plant in 1937, Bremnes Seashore started fish farming in the 1960s and has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned salmon farming enterprises in Norway. Today, the company handles the entire production chain for salmon, from onshore smolt facilities that produce fry, via farming, harvesting and processing, to the distribution of finished products to consumers. Bremnes Seashore currently has around 250 employees, and had a turnover of 1,400 MNOK in 2013.
Since Grieg Seafood started fish farming in Rogaland and Nordland in Norway in 1992, the company has seen a steady growth in both fish volumes and turnover. Today Grieg Seafood ASA is one of the world’s largest producers of farmed salmon and trout, with a production capacity of around 69.000 tons gutted weight annually. The group had a turnover of 2.425 MNOK in 2013.
